Planned Giving

Even when we are no longer walking the earth, the land we lived on – the land we loved – will remain. Including Cardinal Land Conservancy in your estate plans allows you to choose how the land you love will exist for future generations.

Including Cardinal in your estate plans, whether through a monetary gift or a gift of land, you will join the Cardinal Wings Program. Cardinal Wings members will get invited to special programming throughout the year. The programs will allow you to understand the impact your planned gift will have on Cardinal’s mission of preserving and protecting land in Southwest Ohio into perpetuity.

Your Land, Your Legacy - Gifts of Land or Conservation Easements to Cardinal

Consider a planned gift to Cardinal Land Conservancy, Inc. (EIN 31-1673211) during life or in your estate plan.  As a tax-exempt charity, all gifts to Cardinal are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.  Cardinal will accept gifts of land or conservation easements.  If you donate a conservation easement on your land to Cardinal, you continue to own the land and can pass it to your heirs, sell it, or otherwise transfer it knowing that it will be protected in perpetuity.  Donations of conservation easements are eligible for an enhanced tax deduction under I.R.C. 170(h).  Gifts of land with high conservation value can be protected with a conservation easement and then sold to provide a gift to Cardinal while keeping the land preserved in perpetuity.  Lands without conservation value (e.g. a house or building lot in a municipality) can be sold and the funds used to protect other lands with high conservation value.

To discuss these options and plan your gift,  please contact cardinal by emailing andy@cardinallandconservancy.org.
